Work is work. Nothing to add here.
Church is going quite nicely. Still trying to learn the do's and dont's of being a Southern Baptist. I think I have hit my nine month mark, but I'm getting there. Anderson Mill is a great place to be. A week or so ago, we (the church) had VBS which I got to be a part of. I was a first timer at VBS. It wasn't bad at all, especially when Joe showed me where the 'food room' was! :)
As far as the choir is going, we have alot of opportunities coming up to minister. We have the honor to be the choir singing at this year's Choral Festival at First Baptist, Spartanburg, lead the North Greenville University Community Rally and sing at a little church in God's country, named Switzer.
As for as the political side, I had the honor of helping with a sign-wave on Primary Tuesday at the corner of Reidville Road and East Blackstock Road. Many of you saw me, simply because you stopped in traffic and spoke. I had alot of fun that day helping out. I wish I had more time that day to help but with school and all limited by time to help. Even though, we (Team Andre) didn't win; we have an awesome time trying. The evening of the primaries, we met Andre and his team at Copper River in Greenville. That was alot of fun seeing the media present (and in person). After Andre's bus got there, everyone was outside talking. Andre made the remark that it was hot. I told him that he had a banquet room and that we should go in. I, as the Mayor, opened the first set of doors for Andre. He, then, opened the second set of doors for me. As I went in, Andre remarked "The Mayor of Moore just arrived." It was hilarious! Later in the week, I did find my picture in the Greer Citizen newspaper with Andre and one of his staffers. According to the picture, I was a staffer too! I made a video, if this works (cross your fingers now). Check out MY VIDEO.Now on to the weather.... It's been hot. How hot is it? Funny you should ask. Everyday, this week, that I have went out for lunch my car says that it is well over 100 degrees. That is insane and summer has just arrived. Even though the hot weather just arrived, it is already reflecting on my power bill. It has doubled from this time last year. Can't wait to see next months. Just in case you didn't know, this is SARCASM....
Oh well, ask your momma how she durrin. Ask her if she can borrow me a dolla? And yes, I have introduced quite a number of people to SQL over the past few weeks. We have to keep her humor going, right?
Until I blog again,
-M
