Gee, Where do I start?
This may look like alot to read, but trust me, it's worth it. Today, I received a call from Heath (of Union) a/k/a "Johno". He was getting the gang together tonite for a get-together. They decided on Kanpai. That's fine with me; I had never been there before.
So at 8:30, we met up at Kanpai at Essex Square. We went in and waited on our table. We noticed a man on the other side of the door waiting on a table as well. He was drunk off his ass, but I really didn't pay him any attention.We were seated at a table with another couple. This table happened to be next to the drunk man and his "family".
Once again, I paid them no attention.We gave our drink orders and waited for our food. The drunk guy, let's call him "Stupid", began to yell at the couple which sat beside me, because "Stupid" was ready to start something. This quiet couple did not pay him any attention. Even though "Stupid" could not hold a spoon and had no idea what planet he was on.Well, "Stupid's wife" (also slightly intoxicated) leaves the scene. We assume she went to the restroom or for drugs, we don't really know. But, anywho, when she came back, she started spazzing out. I'm going out on a limb here and say she has some mental issues. Her father, we presume, decided that it was time to leave before they made a scene. OH WELL. Done happened, my friend!
The mother of the "bride" said they needed to leave. When that was said. "Stupid's wife" went crazy! She used every profanity known to man (plus a few extra). Several members of the staff escorted them out. However, "Stupid's wife", somehow got back in and decided to patronize our table. She came in between Heath and Govenor and started yelling a whole bunch of shit and wanted to start some M-F'in altercation.They escorted her back to the door, as well as, the whole family. As this was happening, many in Kanpai told them "Bye" and the entire place began applauding. That didn't set well with "Stupid". The lady across from us decided that "something needed to be done", so she called 911. That's right, they were thrown into PUBLI-CK!!!!
The manager threw them out and got punched in the back of the head by "Stupid". The doors were locked until the Spartanburg City Police showed up. They were both arrested for the following:
1. Public Intoxication
2. Disorderly Conduct
3. Assault and Battery
4. Not paying for their dinner
5. Using profanity in the presence of the clergy
6. Assaulting a public official(s)
7. and "Pissing me off" a/k/a elevating my blood pressure! So anyway, we proceeded to eat.
Soon after, the "Po-Po" showed up. They came over to ask us what happened. So Govenor went with the police to fill out a report.So "Stupid and his wife" were escorted to the Spartanburg City Jail. They are probably already out. So, be careful!
As for me, I had too much excitement today, so I had an extra shot of Saki. We knew with all the chaos tonite that we would receive a comp'd or discounted meal. WRONG! We paid full price for the dinner and "a movie" if that's what you call it.We had a super chef tonite. He made the evening alot of fun, despite the action tonite. He even said that the "family" looked like Waffle House material. So, that's probably what they patronized next.Over all, it was a good place to eat. If I go back, they will know me if I just tell them that I was assaulted by the drunk family.
Oh well, Kudos go out to Kevin, Goob, Nicolas, Stephanie, Govenor, Heath, myself and the quiet couple that sat beside us. Too bad Derrick didn't make it tonite. We'll have to do this again real soon!If I missed anything, feel free to read any of this parties blog. I'm sure Govenor could add some color to this.

Ahh the memories. I still laugh every time I think about Kanpai.
